Sargsyan has not yet made a decision on the resignation of the Chief of the General Staff

Another political crisis erupted in Yerevan after Pashinyan's careless words about the Russian Iskander. The deputy chief of the general staff of Armenia, according to media reports, ridiculed the prime minister, for which he was dismissed, following him the chief of the general staff was proposed to resign. On Thursday morning, the Armenian Armed Forces issued a statement demanding the resignation of Pashinyan himself. The prime minister regarded this as an attempted coup and called on his supporters to take to the streets. Meanwhile, the opposition has erected barricades and set up a campground near the parliament, they are not in the mood for negotiations with the authorities and demand the resignation of the prime minister.

According to the basic law, the president can, within three days, return the relevant act with his objections to the prime minister, who has applied for the dismissal of a representative of the highest command staff. If the head of government does not accept these objections, then the president must sign the appropriate act or apply to the Constitutional Court. If the president does not fulfill these requirements, the corresponding act will enter into force automatically.

The presidential decision expires on Saturday.
