MOSCOW, February 26 – RIA Novosti. Boats, cutters, helicopters were used by Russian diplomats to transport Russian citizens during the most acute period of the pandemic, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova against the backdrop of the return of employees of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang on a railcar.
“Our diplomats returned Russian citizens by boats, boats, helicopters, they were escorted by the hand. Well, diplomats also have to go the same way, returning home,” Zakharova said on the Russia 1 TV channel.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in its Telegram channel published footage showing the departure of employees of the Russian embassy from the DPRK. Since the railway connection between the two countries is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, they had to overcome part of the way on a railcar, which was pushed by the diplomatic missions themselves. On Friday, eight employees of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang and their family members flew out of Vladivostok and have already arrived in Moscow. The youngest traveler was the three-year-old daughter of the secretary of the diplomatic service.
Last year, a large-scale campaign was organized to transport Russians from abroad. As the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Oleg Syromolotov said earlier in an interview with RIA Novosti, 313 thousand people were returned from abroad through the efforts of the foreign policy and other departments, for this more than 550 export flights were made from 138 countries of the world.
