MOSCOW, February 26 – RIA Novosti. Deputy Chairman of the Moscow OP Alexei Venediktov called the mayor's decision regarding the monument on Lubyanka Square risky, but correct.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his blog that he considers it right to stop voting for the choice of the monument at the “Active Citizen” and for now leave Lubyanskaya Square as it is now.
“I fully support it. A risky but correct political decision. Not to separate, but to unite,” Venediktov told RIA Novosti.
Venediktov, as deputy chairman of the Moscow OP, was involved in organizing and holding the vote.
Voting on the installation of the monument on Lubyanskaya Square began on Thursday at 10:00 and was supposed to last until March 5 at several sites, the short-list included a monument to Felix Dzerzhinsky and Alexander Nevsky.
