MOSCOW, February 26 – RIA Novosti. Aeroflot has proposed introducing “non-guaranteed” air tickets in Russia, Vedomosti reports with reference to a letter sent by the airline to President of the Association of Air Transport Operators Vladimir Tasun.
According to the publication, the document describes the fare with tickets, according to which the carrier can independently change the date, flight, flight route, class of service without taking into account the passenger's opinion.
The publication notes that the tariff involves compensation of up to 30 thousand rubles to passengers for inconveniences, but not in all cases. In particular, there will be no payments if the airline notifies the passenger of the changes in the travel conditions at least two weeks in advance.
Reportedly, Aeroflot expressed the opinion that the use of such fares would reduce the average cost of tickets by 2 percent.
According to the newspaper, the company sent a letter to Tasun on February 11. The head of the Association of Air Transport Operators said that the consideration of the initiative was postponed to collect opinions from other market participants.
The Ministry of Transport noted that the proposal to introduce “non-guaranteed” tickets in any case will not be considered until the full restoration of air traffic.
