On February 1, the Krasnoyarsk prosecutor's office began checking information about mass water poisoning in the Oktyabrsky district of Krasnoyarsk. Later, at the request of the prosecutor's office, the investigative body opened a case for the provision of services that did not meet the health safety requirements of consumers, 56 citizens were recognized as victims. The prosecutor's office made a presentation to the water supply company KrasCom to exclude such cases in the future. According to “KrasKom”, the poisoning could have been caused by the ingress of water from the fire system, the company noted that the results of water analyzes showed its compliance with quality standards, and stated that they would appeal the submission.

The department reported that the sanitary and epidemiological investigation revealed violations of the sanitary and epidemiological norms and rules in the KrasKom company, which “could contribute to the formation of a disease focus.”
For violations, cases were initiated on an administrative offense against the guilty officials and the legal entity “KrasKom” under Part 1 of Article 6.3. Administrative Code of the Russian Federation on violation of legislation in the field of ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population. This entails a warning or an administrative fine for citizens from 100 to 500 rubles, for officials – from 500 to 1 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 10 thousand to 20 thousand rubles or an administrative suspension of activities for up to ninety days.
