MOSCOW, February 25 – RIA Novosti. Senators propose to protect unqualified investors from possible losses in foreign online casinos or on crypto-exchanges, said Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Nikolai Zhuravlev.
On the air of the Vmeste RF TV channel, Zhuravlev explained that the issue of protecting the rights of unqualified investors had been discussed the day before at a meeting of the Federation Council leadership with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. A bill has already been submitted to the State Duma that restricts the sale of complex financial products, including structural ones, to unqualified retail investors who do not have knowledge of the features and risks of such complex products or experience in the financial market.
“The issues of protecting the rights of citizens – unqualified investors from possible financial losses, were also discussed,” Zhuravlev said.
“The measures proposed by the senators relate to the Russian financial market, but foreign financial instruments, such as online casinos or crypto exchanges, are publicly available. Their advertising is everywhere. We need to think about how to protect from financial losses (citizens – ed.) In foreign markets,” he said is he.
In addition, according to Zhuravlev, the reform of the institution of bankruptcy was discussed at a meeting with the head of the Cabinet. The government has already developed a corresponding bankruptcy bill, in which there are many novels. “This is a change in the principle of changing the bankruptcy administrator, clarification of the bankruptcy procedure,” the senator said.
