MOSCOW, February 25 – RIA Novosti. Alexei Navalny, convicted in the case of the Yves Roche company, was convoyed from the special block of the Moscow SIZO-1 Matrosskaya Tishina, his lawyer Vadim Kobzev told RIA Novosti.
“Today I came to see him, they kept me there for three hours and in the end they said that the meeting was impossible, since he was convoyed,” the lawyer said.
According to him, they refused to tell him exactly where Navalny was sent, but he suggested that he was sent to a colony.
According to the law, the FSIN must later inform the relatives of the place of serving the sentence.
On February 2, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow ruled to cancel Navalny's suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case and replace him with three and a half years in a general regime colony. The Federal Penitentiary Service insisted on this: according to the department, he failed to check in at the inspection on time about 60 times and received numerous administrative punishments. At the same time, the court credited him with the time spent under house arrest. In total, the convict will have to spend two years and five months in prison.
The court found that Navalny and his brother Oleg stole more than 30 million rubles, having convinced the Yves Rocher company and another organization to conclude agreements on the transportation of printed materials at inflated prices.
The convict three times managed to avoid replacing the suspended sentence with a real one. The refusal decisions were made by the Lyublinsky District Court of Moscow in 2015 and 2016, the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow in 2017 also extended his probationary period without raising the issue of sending him to a colony.
