MOSCOW, February 24 – RIA Novosti. The price of Brent crude rose above $ 67 per barrel for the first time since January 8, 2020, according to trading data.
As of 18:50 Moscow time, the price of April futures for the North Sea Brent oil mixture grew by 2.68 percent – up to $ 67.12, in May – by 2.45 percent, up to $ 66.06 per barrel. The cost of April futures for WTI increased by 2.27 percent – up to $ 63.07 per barrel.
Earlier, the US Department of Energy reported that oil production in the country over the past week dropped to its lowest level since August last year and amounted to 9.7 million barrels per day. A week earlier, production was 10.8 million barrels per day.
At the same time, the data on commercial reserves turned out to be worse than expected: the growth of the indicator for the reporting week amounted to 1.3 million barrels, or 0.3 percent, to 463 million barrels. Analysts had expected a 5.4 million barrels drop in inventories.
