Employees of the North-West Interregional Directorate of Rosprirodnadzor, with the help of specialists from the Leningrad Zoo, rescued a tiger python abandoned by the owner in the village of Naziya, Leningrad Region, the press service of the department reports.
“The North-West Interregional Administration of Rosprirodnadzor stood up for the tiger python abandoned in the apartment. Citizens called the administration and said that the owner had left the python in a two-room apartment in the village of Naziya,” the message says. View this post on Instagram
According to the press service, the python, four meters long, was in an apartment without owners. According to preliminary data, the apartment was transferred to the ownership of a credit institution for default on loan obligations.
“The hostess left the apartment, leaving her pet in it. Since December 2020, local residents have been feeding the python. Citizens also tried to find the owner of the snake, but the attempts were unsuccessful,” it said.
The Rosprirodnadzor administration agreed with the Leningrad Zoo on the delivery of the python from Nazia to St. Petersburg, the zoo accepted the animal at its site. Python is quarantined – good news
