BARNAUL, February 24 – RIA Novosti. Two workers who were injured in a dust-air mixture at the Biysk CHPP died, the press service of the Siberian Generating Company (SGK) reports.
“We regret to inform you that the employees who were injured on the evening of February 18 at the Biysk CHPP died. We offer our condolences to relatives and friends. The families will be provided with the necessary assistance,” the message says.
Earlier it was reported that on February 18 at the Biysk CHPP there was a failure in the operation of equipment on the dust system of one of the boiler units. Because of this, an outbreak of a dust-air mixture occurred, and the station's automatic fire extinguishing system worked. Two employees received serious burns. They were urgently hospitalized in the intensive care unit in serious condition.
“The second (the victim – ed.) Is in the Central City Hospital of Biysk. He continues to receive all the necessary assistance. Treatment is carried out under the supervision of doctors of the regional burn center,” the SGC said.
The reasons for the incident are being investigated, and a special commission has been created for this.
