Honduras Registers Sputnik V Vaccine

MOSCOW, February 24 – RIA Novosti. Honduras became the 36th country to register the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said.

As specified in the fund, the Republican Agency for Regulation in Healthcare (Agencia de Regulacion Sanitaria, ARSA), this decision was made as part of an accelerated procedure.

“This is a vaccine for all mankind, and its approval in 36 countries underlines the important contribution to the global fight against the pandemic. Honduras has joined a number of Latin American states to approve the use of Sputnik V, and we stand ready to support partners to protect the population with the help of one of the best vaccines in the world “, – said the head of the RDIF Kirill Dmitriev.

The Russian Ministry of Health registered Sputnik V in August 2020, it was developed by the Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry. This vaccine was the first in the world to prevent COVID-19. The drug was created on the studied and tested platform of human adenoviral vectors.

Sputnik V ranks among the top three drugs against coronavirus in terms of the number of approvals received by government regulators around the world.
