MOSCOW, February 24 – RIA Novosti. A New Jersey court has fined singer Bruce Springsteen $ 500 for pleading guilty to drinking alcohol in a prohibited area, according to local portal NJ.com.
Two weeks ago, it was reported that Springsteen was arrested in a national recreational area in New Jersey in mid-November. At the same time, he was also charged with drunkenness and reckless driving.
At a hearing on Wednesday, Springsteen admitted to having drunk several sips of tequila in the national park, and the court dropped the drunk driving charges. As it turned out, the 71-year-old's blood alcohol level was well below the legal limit.
Springsteen expressed a desire to pay the fine immediately, including $ 40 in legal fees.
Bruce Springsteen is one of the most popular musicians in the United States and has won multiple Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe awards.
