BERLIN, February 24 – RIA Novosti. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Germany called the refusal of cooperation of a number of companies in Germany and the USA with the Nord Stream 2 project “a decision of companies.”
On the eve of the subsidiary of the largest German group Münchener Rück, which deals with the reinsurance of German and international insurers, has completed an agreement with Nord Stream 2.
Nord Stream 2 envisages the construction of two strings of a gas pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany. The project is actively opposed by the United States, which is promoting its liquefied natural gas to the EU, as well as Ukraine and a number of European countries. In December 2019, the United States imposed sanctions on the gas pipeline, as a result of which the Swiss Allseas was forced to stop laying.
