KHANTY-MANSIYSK, February 24 – RIA Novosti. A Mi-8 helicopter with three crew members on board, flying from Tarko-Sale (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) to Surgut (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug), was forced to land 50 kilometers from the Yamal city of Noyabrsk due to an increase in the temperature of the main gearbox, the Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office reports.
“On February 24, the Mi-8M aircraft of UTair – Helicopter Services, performing flight 9525 on the Tarko-Sale – Surgut route, due to an increase in the temperature of the main gearbox, made an emergency landing on the site, which is located 50 kilometers from Noyabrsk,” – informs the department in its Telegram channel.
The helicopter landed safely at about 17:00 local time (15:00 Moscow time). The aircraft was not damaged or injured. On board, according to the prosecutor's office, there were three crew members, there were no passengers. Currently, the crew is awaiting the arrival of another helicopter, the people were placed in a heated room for rotational workers.
“The reasons for the aircraft event are being established. The Surgut Transport Prosecutor has organized a flight safety check,” the supervisory authority added.
