YEREVAN, 23 Feb – RIA Novosti. The protesters demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan blocked Khanjyan Street in the center of Yerevan, the online resource tert.am reports live from the action.
The demonstrators blocked the roadway with garbage containers, and then began to march along one of the lanes.
At the same time, a large opposition rally is taking place in front of the Armenian police building.
After Pashinyan signed an agreement on a ceasefire in Karabakh in November 2020, protest actions began in Yerevan demanding his resignation. Two main hierarchs of the Armenian Church, the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and the Catholicos of the great house of Cilician Aram I. The opposition forces demanding his resignation nominated the former head of the country's government Vazgen Manukyan to the post of prime minister. At the end of December, Pashinyan invited political forces for consultations on holding early parliamentary elections in 2021. However, the opposition demands that Pashinyan leave the post of prime minister before the elections.
