MOSCOW, February 23 – RIA Novosti. Former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin commented on the scandal in the Ukrainian government over the photograph of the country's Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Urusky with the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov at an exhibition in the UAE, criticizing the behavior of the Ukrainian official.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal demanded an explanation from Urusky because of the photo where he was captured next to Kadyrov at the IDEX-2021 arms exhibition in the UAE. The deputy prime minister himself said that he was in a common photo with the head of Chechnya because of the organizers' protocol. Kadyrov, in turn, noted that only yesterday he learned about the existence of Urusky, surprised that the photo caused a scandal in Kiev.
Klimkin said in an interview with “Observer” that Urusky's behavior was “unacceptable” and “looks like a slap in the face.” “You should not refer to the protocol, but apologize to the Ukrainians for what happened … Anything can be in the protocol, but the politician is responsible,” the ex-minister says.
He also criticized Shmygal's reaction to the event, accusing him of trying to shift responsibility onto Urusky.
“I think it looks at least sad when this happens, and someone is trying to shrug off responsibility, and Facebook asks his Deputy Prime Minister to explain his behavior, although in fact there is a phone and there is authority There is political responsibility, which must be demonstrated and communicated accordingly. This Facebook passage demonstrates a huge problem, “concluded Klimkin.
