UFA, 23 Feb – RIA Novosti. The authorities of the Orenburg region have introduced a state of emergency in the area where the gas pipeline broke through, the vice-governor of the region Sergey Balykin told reporters.
Earlier it was reported that there was an explosion on the federal main gas pipeline 6-7 kilometers from the village of Mukhranovo, Ilek district, followed by a fire. There are no victims in the emergency. According to updated information from the authorities, the incident occurred on a branch of the Orenburg-Novopskov gas pipeline. The governor of the region Denis Pasler said that two pipelines were damaged.
“A meeting of the Committee for Emergency Situations was held, all departments and organizations were heard. An emergency regime was introduced in the Ilek region. Gas is supplied in all villages of the Ilek region. Pressure is falling in a number of villages. There is no gas supply in two village councils of the Novosergievsky region,” Balykin said.
According to him, emergency work has begun in these villages, gas must be supplied to the houses within six hours.
“The situation is under the control of the governor. We are working with the population. Everywhere we conduct a yard round, especially where the elderly and the lonely live. We are preparing temporary accommodation for those in need,” he explained.
