Twenty people rescued from a breakaway ice floe in Taganrog Bay

MOSCOW, February 20 – RIA Novosti. About two dozen people ended up on a breakaway ice floe in the Taganrog Bay, they were rescued by police officers and the FSB border department, spokesman for the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk told reporters.

“The duty station of the Taganrog line department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on transport received a message that an ice floe broke off the coastline in the area of Pushkinskaya embankment. To help, transport police, together with employees of the border department of the FSB of Russia in the Rostov region, moved onto the ice of the Taganrog Bay, loaded people onto special air cushion boats and brought them to land.
