MOSCOW, February 21 – RIA Novosti. The situation with environmental protection in recent years has changed for the better, both in terms of legislative regulation and legal awareness of the population, said well-known TV presenter, zoologist and biogeographer Nikolai Drozdov during a discussion on the Clubhouse social network, organized at the initiative of the state development corporation VEB.RF.
VEB.RF in November 2020 was approved by the Russian government as a methodological center for the development of investment activities in the field of sustainable, including green development.
“The situation (ecology – ed.) In our legal consciousness has changed so much for the better. And the laws themselves were adopted, and resolutions were issued of a harsh nature that we had not imagined before. 10-15 years ago, we would not have known or noticed ( diesel fuel in Norilsk – ed.) Of course, now we have a very heightened attitude towards this, and I am very happy about that, “Drozdov noted.
He added that, despite the improvement of the legislative framework, every citizen of the country should remember that “clean ecology begins with oneself.”
As the first deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on ecology and environmental protection Nikolai Valuev said during the discussion, residents of Russia actively inform the State Duma about environmental problems. According to him, the top complaints include complaints about landfills and illegal dumps, about the activities of industrial enterprises, deforestation and pollution of water bodies.
The improvement of the situation in the industry is also observed by the general director of the company “Himpartners” Konstantin Rzayev. According to him, Russia is on the right track. “We have seen many changes in recent years, especially after the release of Federal Law 458“ On Production and Consumption Waste. ”Separate waste collection has begun to actively develop,” he explained.
Business is also revising its attitude to the environmental sphere. As Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ilya Torosov noted, the business community understands that the future belongs to environmental technologies.
“This is the modernization of production, a new round, and if they (representatives of Russian business – editor's note) do not do this, then they may remain on the sidelines of general development, including technological development,” the deputy minister stressed.
It is possible to modernize production in accordance with eco-standards at the expense of domestic developments, said Mikhail Tykuchinsky, director for development of the energy efficient technologies cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation, during the discussion. Last year, the fund launched the GreenTech Startup Booster, the first program in Russia to support technology startups in the field of ecology, with large Russian and foreign companies as partners.
“We had more than 10 industrial partners – large Russian and foreign companies. Now we have dozens of pilot projects with these industrial partners being implemented, and this year we are planning to launch a new set of startups and we understand that these (green – ed.) Russia has technology, “Tykuchinsky summed up.
