S.-PETERSBURG, February 20 – RIA Novosti. A history teacher and part-time social teacher of a school in the village of Ladva, Prionezhsky district of Karelia, has been suspended from work for beating up two students, Gennady Saraev, ombudsman for children in the region, told RIA Novosti.
“The parents of two schoolchildren went to the police after they learned that their children had been hit by the teacher. A check was carried out, now the teacher has been suspended from work,” Saraev said.
According to him, after the check, administrative proceedings were initiated under Article 6.1.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (Beating). “Now the materials have been transferred to the prosecutor's office, and they are deciding the issue of initiating a criminal case,” Saraev said.
He added that the student incidents happened in February, two weeks apart. “First, he grabbed the boy by the neck, there were traces. He explained this by the fact that the student behaved inappropriately. Then he pushed the girl that she hit her forehead on the desk,” said the ombudsman.
According to Saraev, the question of the form of dismissing a teacher from a school in Ladva is also being resolved.
