Voronezh court chooses preventive measure for persons involved in extremism case

According to him, the investigators asked for house arrest in respect of two defendants, and in custody for the third.

According to preliminary data of the RF IC, in January 2020, a 19-year-old resident of Voronezh created a criminal group. In April 2020, the suspect made a stencil with extremist text aimed at inciting ethnic hatred, with the help of which he and another member of the group applied inscriptions on the walls of houses in several districts of Voronezh. In addition, members of the group in October 2020, using aerosol paint, applied an inscription of extremist content on a fence near one of the city's residential buildings. In addition, according to the Investigative Committee, a 26-year-old resident of Voronezh, who is a member of the gang, was detained on suspicion of beating a 19-year-old young man.

In the garage of one of the detainees, an object similar to a mortar mine during the Great Patriotic War was found, it was sent for examination. At the moment, criminal cases have been opened on incitement of hatred or enmity committed by an organized group, public calls for extremist activities, as well as deliberate infliction of light harm to health from hooligan motives, using objects used as weapons.
