NIZHNY NOVGOROD, 18 Feb – RIA Novosti. Compulsory medical measures will be applied to a resident of Cheboksary, who threatened the judge and his relatives with murder, the prosecutor's office of Chuvashia reports.
The court established that a 44-year-old man sent a written appeal addressed to the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Chuvashia in his name containing threats of murder and harm to his health and his relatives. In addition, he also insulted one of the justices of the peace in an indecent form when he passed a decision on recognizing the defendant as guilty of committing an administrative offense, and also insulted a federal judge in an indecent form when deciding on the choice of a preventive measure against him.
A criminal case was initiated against the man under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat of murder, harm to health against a judge and his relatives in connection with the consideration of materials in court) and Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (contempt of court, expressed in insult of a judge) …
“The Yoshkar-Ola city court, taking into account the conclusion of the forensic psychiatric commission of experts, applied a compulsory medical measure in the form of compulsory treatment in a medical organization against the attacker. The court's decision did not come into legal force,” the Chuvashia prosecutor's office said.
