Real wages in Russia increased by 2.5 percent in 2020

MOSCOW, 18 Feb – RIA Novosti. Real wages in the Russian Federation in 2020 increased by 2.5%, according to preliminary data from Rosstat.

In December, real wages of Russians increased by 4.6% in annual terms and by 39.5% in monthly terms (such a significant increase is associated with the payment of bonuses and bonuses at the end of the year).

Real wages are the average accrued wages adjusted for inflation.

“The average monthly gross wages of employees of organizations in 2020, according to preliminary data, amounted to 51,083 rubles and increased by 6% compared to 2019, in December 2020 – 69,278 rubles and increased by 9% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, 7% “, – says the report of the statistical office.

Compared to the previous month, the average monthly accrued wages increased by 40.7%.

The growth in real wages in 2020 occurred against the background of a decline in real disposable income of the population, according to preliminary estimates of Rosstat, by 3.5%. Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, noted that 57% of the population's income is accounted for by wages, and the decrease in the indicator was mainly due to the decline in income from entrepreneurial activity, income from deposits, as well as due to a decrease in informal employment.
