Meat and vegetables have risen in price in Russia

MOSCOW, 17 Feb – RIA Novosti. The growth in prices for vegetables in Russia from February 9 to 15 slowed down: cucumbers rose in price by 3.6%, tomatoes – by 1.7%, potatoes – by 2%, and carrots – by 1.6%, follows from the materials of Rosstat.

“Prices for fruits and vegetables increased by an average of 1.7%, including for cucumbers – by 3.6%, potatoes – by 2%, tomatoes – by 1.7%, carrots – by 1.6%”, – says the message. In the week of February 2-8, cucumbers rose in price by 6%, potatoes – by 2.2%, tomatoes – by 2.5%, and carrots – by 1.7%.

In turn, fresh white cabbage last week rose in price by 1% (against 0.9% in the week from February 2 to 8), onions – by 1.1% (against 1%), apples – by 1.1% (versus 0.6%). In general, prices for fruits and vegetables from February 9 to 15 increased by an average of 1.7%, a week earlier the growth was 1.9%.

From February 9 to 15, prices for chicken meat (by 1.4%), for margarine (by 0.9%), frozen fish (by 0.5%) increased. Smoked and boiled-smoked sausages, sausages, small sausages, canned meat for baby food and rennet cheeses have risen in price by 0.3%, boiled sausage, bread and buns made from wheat flour of the 1st and 2nd grades, pasta, dry milk infant formula – by 0.2%.

Beef, pork, lamb, canned meat, sour cream, fat cottage cheese, rye bread, canned vegetables for baby food, noodles and table salt rose in price by 0.1%.

During the same period, prices for millet, chocolates and vodka (by 0.2%), canned fruits and berries for baby food, black tea and caramel (by 0.1%) fell in price. Prices for butter, milk, wheat flour, buckwheat, rice and biscuits remained unchanged.

“Sunflower oil on average in the Russian Federation has become more expensive by 0.1%, including in 29 regions – by 0.1-0.9%, in 6 regions – by 1.0-1.8%. In 21 regions prices did not change. At the same time, in 29 subjects, prices for sunflower oil fell by 0.1-1.3%, “the statistics department said. From January 19 to 25, oil fell by 0.1% after two weeks of price growth (0.1% each), from January 26 to February 1 – by 0.5%, from February 2 to 8 – the price did not change.

Granulated sugar in Russia on average fell by 0.1%, including in 31 regions – by 0.1-0.9%, in 7 regions – by 1-2.8%. In 27 subjects, prices increased by 0.1-1.5%, in 20 – did not change. From 1 to 11 January, sugar fell by 0.7%, from 12 to 18 January – by 0.5%, from 19 to 25 January – by 0.5%, and from 26 January to 1 February – by 0.6% , from 2 to 8 February – by 0.4%.

“Prices for chicken eggs on average in the country increased by 0.9%, including in 53 constituent entities of the Russian Federation – by 0.1-1.9%, in 20 constituent entities – by 2.0-6.0%. In 5 regions, prices did not change. In 7 regions, prices fell by 0.1-9.4%, “the statement says. Prior to that, eggs became cheaper: from January 26 to February 1 – by 0.2%, from January 19 to January 25 – by 0.2%, and from January 12 to 18 – by 0.7% after 17 weeks of growth. Meanwhile, from February 2 to February 8, an average price increase of 0.6% was recorded.

Wheat flour for the period from 9 to 15 February did not change in price (a week earlier it went up by 0.3%), bread made of rye and rye-wheat flour went up by 0.1% (against an increase of 0.2%), pasta from wheat flour of the highest grade increased in price by 0.2% (a week earlier by 0.8%), vermicelli rose in price by 0.1% (a week earlier by 1%).

Prices for bread and baked goods made from wheat flour of the 1st and 2nd grades increased by 0.2% (last week by 0.1%). Rice in price did not change (a week earlier it increased by 0.1%), buckwheat prices did not change (a week earlier they increased by 0.1%), prices for millet decreased by 0.2% (unchanged in the previous week).
