Anna Kuznetsova, Commissioner for the Rights of the Child under the President of the Russian Federation, took control of the case of torture by the mother of a one and a half year old disabled child in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the press service of the children's ombudsman reported.

Earlier it was reported that investigators in the Krasnoyarsk Territory opened a criminal case against a woman who systematically tortured her one and a half year old disabled child in the village of Bor. According to preliminary information from the investigation, the suspect beat and starved the child. According to neighbors, the woman and her roommate abuse alcohol, lead an asocial lifestyle, which was repeatedly reported to the police.

“According to the situation with the video, where a woman brutally beats a child, we are in touch with the region, a colleague ombudsman for the rights of children of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor's office. At the moment, two children were seized by the police and are now in a medical institution, their lives and nothing threatens health, “the press service quotes Kuznetsova as saying.

The ombudsman also said that, for her part, she turned to the regional prosecutor's office with a request to check the activities of the bodies of the prevention system.

“The woman has been detained, a criminal case has been opened against her,” she added.
