Ukrainian railroad workers complain about “medieval” working conditions

MOSCOW, February 16 – RIA Novosti. Employees of the state company “Ukrainian Railways” (“Ukrzaliznytsia”) spoke about the “medieval” working conditions. The corresponding video was published on Telegram.

Members of the locomotive brigade complained that due to the lack of glass heating, they were forced to melt the ice on the cab windows with fire.

The video shows how one of the participants in the shooting sets fire to paper and holds it in his hands near the glass from the driver's side in order to at least somehow melt the ice.

Now Ukrainian railway workers are enjoying the Soviet legacy. The overwhelming number of trains has long been subject to write-off and disposal: the age of the rolling stock is from 30 to 53 years. The overall wear rate is over 90 percent.
