Moscow proposed to restrict the movement of trucks during a snowfall

MOSCOW, February 16 – RIA Novosti. The traffic situation in Moscow has practically stabilized, but during a snowfall, it is worth limiting the movement of trucks and heavyweights until the consequences of bad weather are eliminated, Alexander Yevsin, deputy head – head of the Situation Center of the Moscow TsODD, told reporters on Tuesday.

“During the snowfall, the Road Patrol of the TsODD made 976 tows of stuck and broken vehicles. Of these, 928 are heavy trucks (trucks, tankers). AMPP evacuators – 137 trucks and 11 passenger cars that got into an accident or stalled in the snow … did not repeat itself again, one of the possible solutions is to restrict the movement of trucks and heavyweights around the city during a snowfall, up to putting the roads in order, “Yevsin said.

According to him, during the snowfall last weekend, the situation on the roads was not easy – traffic jams were 8.9, in some places and all 10 points. The main problem at the weekend was on the Moscow Ring Road and on the Kaluzhskoye Highway: stuck trucks blocked the passage of vehicles, clogging all the lanes.

“Now the road services continue to liquidate the consequences of the snowfall. The situation in the city has practically stabilized,” Yevsin said.

Heavy snowfall hit Moscow last week, starting on Friday and continuing on weekends. The height of the snow cover in Moscow by February 14 reached 59 centimeters, in the region – up to 72 centimeters, which is one and a half to two times higher than the norm. This affected the situation on the roads, traffic jams on Friday afternoon reached a maximum of 10 points, serious congestion continued on the weekend. “This is a real storm, Armageddon, apocalypse”: snowfall in MoscowВ Москве предложили ограничивать движение грузовиков во время снегопада 1 in 20
