Kiev recognized the impossibility of refusing to purchase electricity from Russia

KIEV, February 16 – RIA Novosti. Ukraine will not refuse to import electricity from Russia until the end of the heating season, Vladimir Kudritsky, head of the board of the energy company Ukrenergo, said during the Ukraine 30. Payments forum.

“The import that is coming now (from the Russian Federation – ed.) In today's situation, when we have 13 unexpectedly broken power units of thermal power plants and when we have virtually zero coal storage at most thermal power plants, to say that the import that now goes to the energy system, it is unnecessary and unnecessary from the point of view of physical balancing of the power system is incorrect, “Kudritsky said.

At the same time, he predicted that in the second half of March – in April, the deficit of energy capacities in Ukraine will disappear due to the fact that the country will receive coal, which was needed in winter, all power units of thermal power plants will be repaired, repairs at NPP power units will be completed, and generation from renewable sources will increase. energy.

Kudritsky also said that after Ukraine joins the European Network of Electricity Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E), the Ukrainian energy sector will be physically disconnected from the markets of Russia and Belarus and will not be able to import electricity from these countries, as, according to him, there will be no such need …

Ukraine in April last year suspended electricity imports from Russia and Belarus in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. Electricity purchases in Belarus resumed on January 3, in February Ukraine began importing electricity from Russia.

At the same time, the acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko previously advocated “reasonable restrictions” on the purchase of electricity from Moscow and Minsk and advocated disconnecting from the energy system with Russia and Belarus.
