In Kazakhstan, a cow was raised on the roof for sacrifice

NUR-SULTAN, February 16 – RIA Novosti. Police are conducting an inspection in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, after builders raised a cow for sacrifice on the roof of a facility under construction on a tower crane, the press service of the police department told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.

A video published on Tuesday in a number of Kazakh media outlets shows a live cow, secured to a tower crane, being lifted onto the roof of a multi-storey residential complex under construction. Some Kazakh users were outraged by the cruelty to the animal. The press service of the Nur-Sultan police told RIA Novosti that the incident took place on Monday at a facility under construction on Nazhimedenov Street.

“Police officers have identified all the participants in the incident. A check is being carried out on this fact. Measures will be taken in accordance with the current legislation,” the police said.

The press service also disseminated a video in which the head of the site under construction, where the incident occurred, Olzhas Esenalin, apologizes. “The intentions were good, this is a kurbandyk (victim – Ed. Note) with the subsequent transfer of meat to the poor, once again I apologize for this incident,” Esenalin said.
