Weekly epidemic thresholds for the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections have been exceeded in 12 regions of Russia, according to the Rospotrebnadzor website. “In the sixth week of 2021, weekly thresholds for the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections (hereinafter referred to as ARVI) in the total population were exceeded in 12 regions,” message.
It is noted that among children under the age of two, exceeding the weekly thresholds was recorded in four regions of the Russian Federation, in the age groups of 3-6 and 7-14 years – also in four regions. Among the population over 15 years old, the thresholds for the incidence of ARVI are exceeded in 22 regions of the country.
“At week 6 of 2021, respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology are identified in the landscape of circulating viruses: parainfluenza viruses, RS viruses and other viruses of non-influenza etiology,” the message added.
It is emphasized that about 85.9 million people (59% of the country's population) have been vaccinated against influenza in Russia now.
