MOSCOW, February 15 – RIA Novosti. Abnormal frosts await residents of Central Russia and the Volga region this week, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told RIA Novosti.
In the north of the Volga Federal District, the deviation from the norm will be seven to nine degrees. “The weather is abnormally cold in the Central Federal District,” added Vilfand.
He specified that on February 15-19 in the Vologda region and on February 15-17 in the Arkhangelsk region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the average daily temperatures will be seven to ten degrees below normal. Abnormal cold weather with a deviation from the norm by 7-12 degrees is expected on February 20 in the Tver, Moscow, Yaroslavl and Kostroma regions.
In addition, on February 15-19 in Tambov and February 15-20 in Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov regions, as well as in Mari El and Chuvashia, the temperature anomaly will be seven degrees. In Smolensk, Tula and Kaluga regions it will be 7-12 degrees colder than normal.
Muscovites, according to Vilfand, also expect abnormal cold weather this week, the deviation from the norm will reach 12 degrees, by the morning the temperature will drop to minus 20 degrees.
