MOSCOW, February 15 – RIA Novosti. The government has allocated ten billion rubles to the Circle of Kindness fund for the purchase of medicines and technical means of rehabilitation for children with serious and rare diseases, said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“This is the first tranche. In total, we have provided 60 billion rubles in the budget for the current year,” he said at a meeting with the Deputy Prime Ministers.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of the Circle of Kindness Fund to support children with severe life-threatening and chronic diseases. Requests for medicines can be made by patients' parents, chief non-staff specialists of the Ministry of Health, and regional ministries of health.
The fund's expert council includes the main freelance specialists of the Ministry of Health, representatives of scientific and educational organizations, doctors, as well as representatives of public and non-profit organizations. This council approves a list of severe life-threatening and chronic diseases and categories of patients with these diseases. The lists are published on the foundation's website and sent to the regions to provide medical documents for children.
As the representative of the Ministry of Health Elena Baibarina said earlier, the “Circle of Kindness” will have the opportunity to buy unregistered drugs for a specific child or group of children.
In early February, the chairman of the fund, Alexander Tkachenko, announced that huge funds had been allocated for the purchase of medicines for the fund, so the “Circle of Kindness” does not plan to accept donations yet.
