SANA: Syrian air defenses repel Israeli missile attack

MOSCOW, February 15 – RIA Novosti. Syrian air defense forces intercepted Israeli missiles in the skies over Damascus, the Syrian State News Agency ( SANA ) reported.

SANA previously reported that Syrian air defense forces are repelling an Israeli attack on the western suburbs of Damascus. According to the agency, strong explosions were heard there.

The blow, according to the agency, was delivered at 01.18 from the Golan Heights and from Galilee.

“The air defense systems repulsed the aggression and shot down most of the enemy missiles,” the agency quoted a military source as saying.

The Israeli military has repeatedly fired at the territory of Syria, explaining this by the desire to prevent modern weapons from falling into the hands of enemies. First of all, we are talking about the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, which is fighting on the side of Bashar al-Assad and is controlled by Tehran.

The Syrian leadership has repeatedly demanded that the UN Security Council put pressure on Israel to stop attacks on the territory of the republic, since such actions violate its sovereignty and lead to increased tension in the region.
