MOSCOW, February 15 – RIA Novosti. The government has approved a strategy for countering the illegal turnover of industrial products for the next 5 years, as part of its implementation it is planned to strengthen the protection of intellectual property, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“To increase the effectiveness of the fight against counterfeiting, a strategy has been approved to combat illicit trafficking in industrial products for the next 5 years. Its goal is to reduce the volume of illicit trafficking and reduce its impact on the development of the economy and social sphere,” Mishustin said on Monday at a meeting with deputy prime ministers …
He noted that they plan to achieve these results through the improvement of laws and regulations, methods of supervision and the implementation of a set of measures to suppress illegal traffic. The prime minister said that the strategy identified priority sectors for monitoring, including food and light industry, pharmaceuticals, auto and aviation industries, children's goods industry, and the chemical industry.
“It is planned to strengthen the protection of intellectual property, create a national center of competence, which will analyze the situation in this area, develop and introduce electronic services for people and, of course, bring legislation closer to our partners in the Eurasian Economic Union,” the head of the Cabinet added.
He stressed that it is necessary to start implementing this strategy as quickly as possible, and asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to prepare an action plan for its implementation within three months.
