MOSCOW, February 15 – RIA Novosti. The situation on the labor market in Russia is gradually stabilizing, according to Rosstat data, the Ministry of Labor told RIA Novosti.
The ministry noted that the number of Russians officially registered as unemployed is currently less than 2.5 million. This is 1.2 million less than in September last year.
“The stabilization of the situation in the market is proceeding gradually. The data of Rosstat also testify to a gradual stabilization in the labor market,” the statement says.
According to Rosstat, in January 2020, unemployment in the Russian Federation amounted to 4.7%, in February – 4.6%, in March – 4.7%, in April it rose sharply to 5.8%. In May, the increase in unemployment continued and amounted to 6.1%, in June – 6.2%, in July – 6.3%, in August – 6.4%, in September and October – 6.3%, in November – 6 , 1%, and in December – 5.9%.
