PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, February 13 – RIA Novosti. The head of the Ministry of Education Sergei Kravtsov believes that schoolchildren may have mobile phones, but they cannot be used in class.
The minister said that his sixth-grader daughter does not have a mobile phone yet.
“It is advisable not to use a mobile phone in the educational process, not to use it in class,” Kravtsov said on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.
Speaking about whether pupils have to hand over their phones at the entrance to the school, the minister recalled that each school itself can make a decision on this issue.
“In my opinion, as a parent, it is important to know where the child is, but in class, when the parent knows that the child is in the classroom, you can either turn off your mobile phone or put it side by side,” Kravtsov said.
He also added that in case of force majeure, parents can always contact the headmaster.
