There are high snowdrifts along the runways of the air harbor, and snow-removal equipment is working in an intensive mode throughout the territory. However, the airport building itself is calm: there are few people, there are no queues.
According to Yandex.Respisanie, as of 5 pm, only 1 flight to Vnukovo was canceled, 20 more were delayed.
As previously reported, the situation at the Domodedovo airport is reversed – a large number of passengers have accumulated there, who cannot fly away due to heavy snowfall in the Moscow region.
Record snowfalls began in Moscow on Friday night, by morning the capital was mired in traffic jams. Aleksandr Sinenkov, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center, told RIA Novosti that heavy snowfall, blizzard and gusty winds are expected in Moscow on Friday. He clarified that the snowfall will continue on Saturday night and partly on Saturday afternoon.
Also, the leading expert of the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus, told RIA Novosti that the height of the snow cover in Moscow could break the 1956 record, now it is 56 centimeters.
