NIZHNY NOVGOROD, 12 Feb – RIA Novosti. Eight tank cars of a freight train went off the rails in the Nizhny Novgorod region due to a collision with a car, the press service of the regional traffic police department told RIA Novosti.
“On Friday evening, near the village of Shemanikha, at a railway crossing, Land Rover crashed into a freight train, as a result of which eight empty tank cars went off the rails. Information about the victims is being specified,” the traffic police said.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, all rapid response services, including traffic police officers, are working on the spot.
In turn, the Nizhny Novgorod transport prosecutor's office reported that they began an inspection on the fact of derailment of eight cars, the acting transport prosecutor of the region left for the place.
As the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office clarified, Land Rover crashed into empty tail cars. “As a result of the accident, eight empty cars descended, the overhead support was damaged. There were no casualties,” the message says.
The Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office organized an audit of the implementation of legislation on railway traffic safety.
