YAROSLAVL, 11 Feb – RIA Novosti. A resident of the Tula region will face trial on charges of killing Sergei Vaneev, editor-in-chief of the Znamya district newspaper, and stealing his car, the regional prosecutor's office said.
Earlier, the SUSK RF in the region reported on the murder of a 54-year-old resident of the Uzlovsky district committed on December 5, 2020. It was noted that he was stabbed in the chest by a 27-year-old drunk acquaintance during a domestic quarrel. A RIA Novosti source in law enforcement agencies clarified that the deceased is the editor-in-chief of the Znamya newspaper Vaneev. “A criminal case has been sent to the court against a resident of Uzhiz who stole a car and murdered an acquaintance,” the regional prosecutor's office said. A representative of the supervisory agency confirmed to reporters that the killed person was Vaneev.
Also, the accused is charged with stealing the car of another friend of his, on which the accused got into an accident. It was 20 days before the murder, the prosecutor's office said.
