MOSCOW, February 10 – RIA Novosti. Police have located and detained a man accused of the brutal murder of a teacher in Voronezh, Russian Interior Ministry spokesman Irina Volk said.
Earlier, investigators identified the man involved in the murder of a mathematics teacher in Voronezh, he was charged in absentia, and he was put on the wanted list.
“Employees of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Voronezh Region have established the whereabouts of the accused of committing the murder of a 47-year-old woman … At present, he is being delivered to the investigator of the Investigative Committee for further investigation and procedural actions,” Volk said.
The RF IC clarified that the criminal case was initiated under the articles “murder” and “robbery”.
“The investigating authorities of the RF IC in the Voronezh Region continue to investigate a criminal case … on the discovery of the body of a 47-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds near a cafe on Moskovsky Prospekt in Voronezh on February 2, 2021,” reads a statement on the agency's website.
Information about the murder appeared in the Voronezh media on the evening of February 2 and immediately caused a stir. According to them, the teacher was attacked at an overhead passage near the Sputnik Hotel stop. It was reported that at the time of the attack, the woman was on the phone and managed to shout that she was being killed.
According to SUSK, the attack on a 47-year-old resident of Voronezh took place at about 19.30 Moscow time. An unknown person inflicted numerous stab wounds to the head, neck and chest. The woman died at the scene of the crime. As the regional prosecutor's office added, a bag with money, a bracelet and a mobile phone were stolen from the murdered woman.
