In the Tula region, three children were poisoned by carbon monoxide

YAROSLAVL, February 10 – RIA Novosti. Three children were hospitalized in the Tula region after being poisoned with carbon monoxide, their parents received medical assistance on the spot, the SUSK RF for the region and the regional prosecutor's office reported.

“According to preliminary information, three children born in 2011, 2012 and 2015 were poisoned by carbon monoxide in an apartment on Beklemishchev Street in the city of Uzlovaya, Tula Region. The injured were hospitalized. Two adults received medical care at home and were not hospitalized,” the prosecutor's office said.

The supervisory authority organized an inspection. “At present, all the circumstances of the incident are being clarified. An assessment will also be made of the activities of the gas service and the management company in the maintenance of gas equipment. If there are grounds, an exhaustive set of prosecutorial response measures will be taken,” the prosecutor's office informs.

The SUSK RF for the Tula region also reported on a pre-investigation check on the grounds of a crime provided for in part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet security requirements). “As part of the check, the investigator seized and is examining all the necessary documentation from the management company and the gas service,” the message says. The investigation clarifies that at present nothing threatens the health of children.
