The deputy head of the police department in St. Petersburg is accused of accepting a bribe from a representative of a cafe chain for patronage, according to the press service of the city administration of the Investigative Committee. “A criminal case is being investigated, instituted on the grounds of a crime under paragraph” b “of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. bribes “in relation to the 45-year-old deputy chief of one of the city's district police departments … The man was exposed and detained. He was charged with committing this crime, and a measure of restraint was chosen in the form of detention,” it was reported.
According to the investigation, the accused demanded that the representative of the cafe chain in the Nevsky District pay him at least 30 thousand rubles a month “for general patronage and non-interference in the activities of the cafe.”
Then he received the required amount from the representative of the cafe chain, after which he was arrested. The investigation of the criminal case continues.
