MOSCOW, February 10 – RIA Novosti. The cameras of modern smartphones have a lot of systems and processes hidden from the common user that are responsible for simplifying and automating shooting. They can be taught to connect the night vision function, Pavel Myasoedov, partner and director of Intellectual Reserve, told the Prime agency.
The weak point of smartphone cameras in comparison with professional devices is night photography. “The reason lies in the compact size. The sensor in the phone's camera is very small, and the light beam passing through small lenses hits the matrix, which consists of many sensitive pixels,” explains the expert.
At the same time, many smartphones have additional depth sensors, such as Tof or LiDAR, which can turn the device into a real night vision device. Usually they are needed to quickly determine the distances to objects in order to speed up focusing. But there are other uses.
“If you install and turn on a special program, which, most likely, will be called – night vision, then such an image in real time will be displayed on the screen. Thus, even in pitch darkness it will be possible to see the surrounding space,” summed up Myasoedov .The science
