MOSCOW, February 10 – RIA Novosti. Radio Liberty * and its general director, included in the list of foreign media outlets, did not pay fines for the lack of appropriate labeling; measures will be taken until the requirements of the law are met, the Roskomnadzor press service told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the press service of Roskomnadzor told RIA Novosti that for non-compliance with the requirements of the law on the labeling of foreign media agents, 166 reports on an administrative offense were drawn up against Radio Liberty * and its general director. The Magistrate's Court considered 40 cases, in all of which decisions were made to impose a penalty in the form of a fine. The total amount was 11 million rubles. The head of the Russian service of RS * Andrey Shary, in turn, told RIA Novosti that a new appeal against the court's decision would be filed.
“At present, the fines of RFE / RL LLC * and its general director have not been paid. Control over the implementation of the provisions of the law on labeling materials of foreign media performing the functions of a foreign agent and taking action in case of violations will be carried out until foreign media comply requirements “, – said the press service.
Part 1 of Article 19.34.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, as reminded in Roskomnadzor, provides for administrative liability in the form of a fine on legal entities – 500 thousand rubles, on officials – 50 thousand rubles. For a repeated violation, the fines are doubled.
