Moscow city services are ready for the upcoming snowfalls, they are on high alert, the work of snow removal equipment, snow-melting plants has been adjusted, Deputy Moscow Mayor for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov told reporters during a press conference at the press center of the Rossiya Segodnya MIA.
Earlier forecasters Phobos told RIA Novosti that the record snowfall will begin in Moscow on Friday night and will last until Sunday, up to 80% of the rainfall will fall.
“In accordance with the instructions given by the mayor of the city, I signed a corresponding instruction to transfer services to high readiness,” Biryukov said.
He noted that about 13.5 thousand units of various snow removal equipment are ready to date.
“We have prepared all the snow-melting points, prepared temporary places, if there is a need for the disposal of snow, then we will take it to the snow-melting points. To date, all reserves of capacities related to the transfer of clean snow, roter equipment have been prepared,” Biryukov said.
