MOSCOW, February 10 – RIA Novosti. The Prosecutor General's Office pointed out the difficulties in punishing the organizers of illegal rallies who are hiding abroad.
At a meeting of the State Duma commission to investigate the facts of interference by foreign states in the internal affairs of Russia, the deputy head of the supervisory department, Aleksey Zhafyarov, said that today it is “rather difficult” to bring them to administrative responsibility.
“This is practically impossible. Perhaps we need to think over some mechanisms for bringing to administrative responsibility in absentia.”
Zhafyarov also proposed to financially punish Internet platforms – Twitter, TikTok, Instagram – in which young people, “for the sake of the so-called hype,” published calls for illegal actions.
“If these sites are obviously created for the purpose of making a profit, it may make sense to think about adequate administrative responsibility in financial terms. In order for the placement of such appeals for the sake of HYIP becomes financially unprofitable,” he explained.
In total, according to a representative of the Prosecutor General's Office, more than 200 parents and legal representatives were brought to justice for the participation of minors in unauthorized actions on January 31.
