MOSCOW, Feb 9 – RIA Novosti. The state should have the authority to pre-trial blocking of fraudulent Internet resources, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, head of the Safe Internet League Ekaterina Mizulina expressed this position to RIA Novosti.
“One of the key challenges in 2020 was the emergence of a colossal number of fraudulent and phishing resources. We are talking, first of all, about fake sites offering citizens social payments on behalf of the government, to which advertisements on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Google images of top officials of the state and famous TV presenters, “Mizulina said.
The fight against fraudulent sites, according to the public figure, is hampered by the fact that restricting access to them is possible only by a court decision. Efficiency will be promoted by a more effective system of coordination of actions of the authorities, she said.
“In the course of the coronavirus pandemic, Internet fraud has reached unprecedented proportions. Tens of thousands of Russians have become victims of fraudsters, especially senior citizens and children. The state should have the authority to pre-trial blocking fraudulent resources. This requires appropriate legislative changes. Such regulations are effective in a number other countries, for example, Germany, “- said Mizulina.
