MOSCOW, Feb 9 – RIA Novosti. The construction of the Danish section of Nord Stream 2 is scheduled to be completed in April, Anton Demchenko, head of Gazprom's investor relations department, said in a telephone conference.
Thus, he confirmed the plans of the Nord Stream 2 AG project operator regarding the completion dates for the main unfinished section of the pipe.
Demchenko stressed that due to significant pressure, the company cannot disclose all information.
“We are focused on completing the construction of the gas pipeline and putting it into operation on time,” he concluded.
The day before, the Danish Maritime Agency, citing Nord Stream 2 AG, announced the company's plans to complete the laying of two lines of the gas pipeline in Danish waters by the end of April. The construction in the area of the Bornholm island will be carried out by the barge “Fortuna” accompanied by the ships “Mukran” and “Baltic Researcher”.
According to the schedule provided by the Danish Energy Agency RIA Novosti, the project operator then plans to start construction in German waters.
In December 2020, Fortuna laid 2.6 kilometers of pipes in German waters. Now, according to the operator, about 148 kilometers of the gas pipeline out of the total length of two lines of 2,460 kilometers remain unfinished. It remains to lay 120 kilometers in the waters of Denmark and about 28 kilometers in the waters of Germany. We have agreed with Berlin the possibility of laying with Fortuna until the end of May.
