Former Deputy Head of Spetsstroy received 13.5 years in prison in a bribe case

MOSCOW, 8 Feb – RIA Novosti. The Babushkinsky court of Moscow has sentenced the former deputy director of Spetsstroy Alexander Mordovets in the case of bribery and abuse of power, the press service of the court told RIA Novosti.

“The Mordovian was sentenced to 13 years and six months in prison in a strict regime correctional colony, with a fine in the amount of three times the amount of a bribe in the amount of 97,144,710 rubles, with deprivation of the right to hold positions in public service for a period of six years, with deprivation of military rank “reserve colonel”, – said the interlocutor of the agency.

The second defendant in the case, previously convicted Oleg Shchurov, was sentenced to 13 years of strict regime.

According to the investigation, the general director of Stroimonolit-14 LLC Shchurov transferred over 32 million rubles to Mordovian for assistance in concluding contracts for the construction of facilities at the Vostochny cosmodrome, as well as general patronage.

Having received advances in the form of money and goods, the construction organization did not work them out, later it was declared bankrupt. The damage to the state exceeded 120 million rubles.
