MOSCOW, Feb 9 – RIA Novosti. The center for support and development of exports “Mosprom” has begun accepting applications for participation in a new program, presenting exporters from the capital to foreign buyers (buyers), the press service of the city department of investment and industrial policy (DIPP) reports.
The program will host online business missions, during which Moscow suppliers and manufacturers will be introduced to buyers from several countries at once. Earlier, the Mosprom Center conducted business missions to buyers from one country. The new program is expected to expand the coverage of international markets by increasing the number of potential customers. “Last year, Mosprom conducted 20 business missions, during which more than 900 business meetings were organized for 120 manufacturers in the capital. As a result, Moscow companies with the support of the center were able to conclude 70 export contracts for the supply and distribution of products to foreign markets. The business mission in the new format will last a month and include online technological tours to the capital's production facilities, “said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.
Applications for participation can be submitted until April 1. The business mission itself will take place in June and will last almost a month. During this time, it is planned to organize 120-130 meetings with potential clients for each participant. Buyers from the CIS countries, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia will be invited for negotiations, the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow
The vice-mayor also noted that the new program had previously proven its relevance for business. A test set of participants was held at the beginning of the year among the companies of the agro-industrial complex (AIC). Activities within the framework of the business mission for the agro-industrial complex are scheduled from March 22 to April 16. “In preparation for business meetings, the specialists of the Mosprom center will provide all-round assistance: they will study in detail the competitive advantages of the products of Moscow companies for effective pre-sale activities and the correct selection of contractors, will present the export potential of manufacturers and hold preliminary negotiations with buyers to verify their interest, as well as verify counterparties, “said Alexander Prokhorov, head of DIPP.
It is noted that in the first half of 2021, Moscow exporters will also expect familiar business missions to specific countries. Thus, at the end of April, manufacturers of products for the railway industry will organize an online business mission to the countries of the Middle East, and at the end of May to China. In June, Mosprom will conduct a full-time business mission to Belarus for Moscow food producers.
